Members

What motivates the members of the Federation is to put culture back at the heart of the debate.

If we keep culture at the core, we can think about long-term solutions, in harmony with the natural elements, the animal kingdom, the plant kingdom and, last but not least, the human being.

Communication has its role to play, especially within a community, and this helps to establish limits. These limits symbolize respect for others. All elements must be respected. And if all this is aligned, no matter what the project, it’s bound to work.

And if the project is successful, the whole island will be proud of it. So we’re moving in the right direction, for the common good.

As a lover of this island, which provides us with an extraordinary and precious quality of life, I decided to take an active part in its protection and preservation by getting directly involved in the Federation, whose aim is noble, laudable and topical.

The protection of nature must no longer be debatable, and economic development must go hand in hand with the respect and preservation of our island, its lagoon, its mountains and its people.

Federation Treasurer

Associations

Collaborate with all the associations and actors in the sector to propose alternatives to the decisions imposed by our politicians, based on the knowledge of our tupuna and respecting our ecosystem.

Example: the Paetou collective had proposed a cultural project including small houses to develop crafts, walks and access along the beach, meeting places for sporting and cultural events, a health trail on the mountain side with marked paths and medicinal plants for cultivation. The OBTP company’s commercial project to build housing estates and industrial sheds was favored instead.
