5 things you didn’t know about the Temae case
3 billion 500 million program authorization in the country’s general budget to purchase :
- 1 plot of 14,604 m2 located on Haapiti for nearly 894 million;
- 3 Temae plots totalling 18 hectares for close to 2 billion 500 million.
Some people, like some of my Tavana colleagues and Tavana himself, are delighted with this announcement.
However, I would like to draw your attention to certain facts that we (Mayor, Jean and myself) consider important.
- Mr. Wane bought the 54-hectare Temae estate for 2 billion 850 million in 2021;
- Neither the commune nor the government took a stand to buy this 54-hectare estate because it was supposedly too expensive and they didn’t have the means to do so;
- The commune and the government did not exercise their right of pre-emption because the cost was presumed to be far too high;
