‘Atira’a ia Mo’orea

Gratitude to all those who joined us to share our values and support our cause.

Thank you to the associations for our exchanges; it’s in unity that we’ll all succeed.
Thank you to our members who organized this cultural morning and hosted the ‘amuira’a ava as our ancestors did.
And thank you to the land that welcomed us for this day, we can’t wait to see the autī that have been planted grow.

The Te Mana o Te Moana association has proposed that associations join the ‘Atiira’a ia Mo’orea project, so that they can share their actions and their vision for the island.

On April 29, 2023, we answered the call and chose to organize an ‘amuira’a ava in the Opunohu valley, on the Mara’amu site.

Ava (kava) is a plant whose roots are used to prepare a ceremonial drink. In the past, this drink was shared between clans during a ceremony to restore peace between the island’s inhabitants. Today, we draw on these traditions to carry out our missions on Mo’orea.

Our culture is the fabric of our federation: it guides our actions to preserve our environment, promote sustainable development and ensure the well-being of our inhabitants. The day of April 29, 2023, anchored these values on the Mara’amu site, which represents a refuge and larder for future generations.

Māuruuru te nuna’a e te fenua nō Mo’orea. Mauri ora!
